Israeli camera sees unprecedented resolution, from space: on Israel’s Ofek 16 satellite, launched Monday night from the Palmachim base into space, has a Jupiter camera, which is smaller than a private vehicle and weighs only 120 kg. Its new version is likely to improve the results of the IDF’s Visual Intelligence Unit 9900. The Jupiter space camera, developed at Elbit Systems, is multispectral and allows high-resolution photographs down to 50 cm from the ground, all while the satellite is in space 600 km from Earth.
