Near Eli, the two terrorists arrived at the gas station with M-16 rifles, opened fire on the diners and tried to escape. One of them was killed at the scene, the other managed to escape and, after a chase raid by Shin Bet and IDF special forces, was eliminated in Tubas.
The chase came to an end just over two hours after the massacre at the restaurant, 30 kilometers away. The Shin Bet’s “tequila team,” which was called in after the attack, pursued the terrorist along with SWAT teams, and special forces followed him closely for almost the entire route.
