The City Council will provide each local police officer with a bulletproof vest with the purchase of 304 units.
Guardian Homeland Security will supply two models of vests with a carrying bag, one for women in size S and one for men in size L. The vests have an appropriate shoulder and belly size adjustment system using Velcro. They have a suitable size adjustment system at shoulder and belly height by means of Velcro. In this way, the Concello intends to cover one of the existing shortages in the police force, with vests that will adapt to each agent. Until recently they refused to share them because of the covid and there were no differentiated vests for men and women. The contract is justified by the risk assumed daily by the agents patrolling the streets. Their use is mandatory in those posts where a generic risk is detected, especially in the event of the possible use of weapons or sharp objects.     More info: https://www.lavozdegalicia.es/noticia/vigo/2021/10/17/concello-dotara-policia-local-chaleco-antibalas-compra-304-unidades/0003_202110V17C4993.htm
