Micro Tavor (X95)

Micro Tavor (X95)
The Micro Tavor (MTAR-21), also called the X95 (especially in the United States) or Tavor-2, is a subcompact assault rifle designed specifically for use by elite units. Using a simple conversion kit, the MTAR-21 can be reloaded in 9mm, making it a submachine gun with a capacity of 20, 25 and 32 rounds. It can also be fitted with a silencer, which is part of the 9mm kit. A grenade launcher specially designed for its size is also available, which requires a truly special design. Although originally intended for special forces, the Israeli Army announced in November 2009 the equipping of all its infantry units with the Micro Tavor as a standard issue weapon. This is due to the type of clashes in which the IDF has been involved in recent decades, mostly in urban areas. Variants:
  • X95 – 5.56mm caliber compact high ace rifle with 330mm long barrel.
  • X95L – 5.56mm caliber carbine with 380mm long barrel.
  • X95S – 9mm caliber submachine gun with 330mm long barrel.
  • X95SD – 9mm caliber submachine gun with integrated silencer, 275mm barrel and a rate of fire of about 1200 rpm.
