IsraelMilitary Industries Corporationmade its presence felt at SITDEF 2013 with the Lynx MLRS multiple launch rocket launch system, as well as the various guided and unguided munitions it can use, ondisplay. A modular concept weapon system that utilizes a backup vehicle that with a specially designed crane has the ability to re-arm the launch vehicle within minutes. The Lynx can use any type of caliber that the potential customer requires from the system and can even be configured to launch various types of munitions, two at a time, including missiles. From 122-mm to 360-mm munitions, the Lynx arm can hit targets 150 kilometers away with an accuracy within 10 meters. The mock-up presented shows a Mercedes Benz 6×6 vehicle, however, Reserve Colonel Oron Yoram, the Israeli corporation’s representative at the show, says the system is so flexible that it can be configured with any type of vehicle, again, in accordance with the customer’s requirements. The software integrated into the system can be adapted to any type of program used by a command and control system, whether using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as target designators or fully networked infantry personnel. IMI is able to offer Lynx within an integrated system as a package solution. Command and Control, Reconnaissance and Missile and Rocket Launching Units. The Peruvian Army currently aligns BM-21 MLRS systems of Russian origin, technology from the seventies, which the Lynx is presented as a candidate to replace. Being a modular system, it can meet the tactical and strategic requirements of the Peruvian Army. Small caliber armament, smart munitions, guided missiles, the company is open to proposals from the Peruvian Armed Forces and other countries in the region.
